Şevket Akıncı & Volkan Ergen - Mesafeler Arası Korkunç Olay (Album)
November 15 - 2024
Volkan Ergen and Şevket Akıncı destroy the elements of music as a watch repairman would dismantle a clock into its separate parts, and rebuild it into a chaotic yet coherent whole with a watchmaker's attention to detail.
Volkan Ergen and Şevket Akıncı, who have been collaborating for 20 years in diverse projects such as the free improvisation group Islak Köpek, Elektronik Kumpanya (which combines Turkish court music with electronics) and Anıl Eraslan's experimental postmodern project Dream Works, join their musical forces to create a patchwork of styles ranging from 20th-century texturalism to doom metal and minimalism.
