BIO

The solo project and alter ego of songwriter, producer and visual artist Güneş

Akyürek, Güneş Kardeş performs Turkish Psychedelic Rock and Anatolian-Pop with

a modern interpretation. As a child, his father's record collection and the psychedelic

soul of the 60s had a deep influence on him. With his previous band PONZA, he wrote

neo-psychedelia songs as a self-taught songwriter, released Free Kids EP (2015) and Another Land LP (2018)  and performed at various festivals with his band.

In 2018, he founded the record company Tarla Records with the DIY philosophy and

released the music of PONZA, Ali Gem, Deli Bakkal, Selût and Şevket Akıncı, presenting

them with the visuals he designed. In 2020 During the pandemic, he prioritized recordings of his Turkish songs that he had previously building up. Uygar Çetiner accompanied on drums and released the first Güneş Kardeş single “Kayboldum” from. The follow-up “Zahiri” was played on many radio stations around the world. As part of the album “Tribute to Moğollar”, he made a reinterpretation of “Çok Geç Olur” by Taner Öngür with his own colors and the music video he shot in his studio for this cover song competed in festivals.

In 2024, Güneş Kardeş released  “Bu Çukurdan” and gave hint of his first album to be

released in the coming months and undertook the arrangement and production of İdil

Meşe’s song “Neden” and released a song featuring İdil Meşe from Ada Müzik. He also

works on bass guitar and vocals in the brand new super group Miskinler and creates

new compositions in the Anatolian-Pop style.

Güneş Kardeş currently continues to experiment in his studio in Maslak, Istanbul and

as a visual artist, he tries to gather stimulating inspirations between these two fields by

producing multidisciplinary works between music and visual arts and manages the

operations of Tarla Records.
